CLINICAL OPERATIONS MANAGER

We are recruiting an exciting, dynamic role within our Early Phase Unit for a specialist in Clinical Operations.  This is a key role in our organisation and is a rare opportunity to join an established, highly rated Phase 1 unit in a leadership role.

 

MAC Clinical Research manages clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry and an exciting range of career opportunities exists in our expanding clinical development organisation. We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Operations Manager to join our team at our MHRA accredited Early Phase Unit in Manchester.

 

This job would be suitable for someone with experience in Clinical Operations, strong management skills and ideally a solid understanding of Phase I and operationalising studies with complex team requirements.

 

Excellent communication skills, leadership and management qualities and the ability to work within a team are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line Management of the team of study co-ordinators and Clinical Trials Assistants in Early Phase, overseeing coordination of all studies within the Early Phase Unit, mentoring and advising the study co-ordinators as appropriate, revising and creating procedures to ensure the clinical phase of each project is completed in accordance with the scope and timelines of the contract.

  • Responsible for study scheduling and supporting ward sister with resource management in the clinical unit

  • Day-to-day oversight of all work on studies being executed in the Early Phase Unit, providing leadership and support to the clinical team

  • Working with the ward sister and Head of Unit to create and maintain a culture of clinical excellence, process improvement, effective leadership and high standards of patient care particularly in accordance with Phase 1 accreditation guidelines

 

Key Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications Required:

  • RGN/RMN or;

  • BSc Nursing/Biomedical or;

  • BSc in a scientific field/relevant clinical trial experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the field of clinical trials, Early Phase preferred

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience with line management
