MAC Clinical Research manages clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry and we are seeking to appoint a Clinical Pathology Services Manager who is keen to make a positive impact in a world-leading Clinical Development Organisation. This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in getting involved in a brand new and exciting service for MAC and willing to initiate, grow and evolve this department.
Based at our brand new laboratory in Liverpool you will be leading the start-up and development of our Clinical Pathology Services across Haematology, Chemistry, Serology, Microbiology and specimen reception to support our Clinical Trials. You will also be responsible for the Quality Management system in the laboratory.
Scheduling and resourcing of workload and compliance with turnaround times
Developing support staff, encouraging growth
Responsible for Quality Management and QMS within the laboratory
Development of SOPs and working procedures
Implementing new tests, equipment, programs and procedures in the department as needed with full evaluation and validation
Attaining UKAS accreditation
Assist in commercial development of MAC Clinical Pathology offering
Honours Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent which would allow individual to be eligible for Associate Membership of the Institute of Biomedical Science
Biomedical Scientist HCPC registration
Experience in maintaining a QMS
In depth knowledge of clinical testing procedures and applicable laboratory testing regulations
Substantial management performance across a clinical team.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements

25 days annual leave (increasing in increments to 30 days after 6 years long service)

Mainly Regular hours (including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day off) but some evening and weekend work could be required to give full service.
