CLINICAL RESEARCH ULTRASOUND SONOGRAPHER

We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Ultrasound Sonographer to join our team and make a positive impact in a growing and progressive CRO. You will be joining a company that put the needs and wellbeing of their people first, who are inclusive and who deliver exceptional service – together.
This role is located in the Manchester area, with travel to MAC sites as required.
The focus of this role is to prepare and perform ultrasonography procedures on clinical trial subjects. To work as a part of a clinical team to align with protocol requirements. To supporting the Pharmacodynamic and other MAC clinical teams on other work and projects as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To set up and maintain ultrasound equipment at MAC investigator sites
To perform ultrasound examinations on clinical trial participants, per protocol schedule of events
Produce images resulting from the ultrasound examinations
Interpret ultrasound images
Carry out training on ultrasound equipment for other site staff as appropriate
Addressing subjects concerns before, during and after ultrasound examinations
Keeping up to date records of scans performed and images produced
Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and facilities, when necessary
Soothing and reassuring nervous or anxious patients
Assist in managing effective communication with the study teams
Provide oversight regarding scientific aspects of selected studies
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
A Batchelors degree in radiology, midwifery, nursing, health science or a related field.
A postgraduate certificate or diploma in clinical or medical ultrasound from an institution recognised by the Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE)
A minimum of one year of experience working in a healthcare-related field. Experience as a Nurse or Radiographer is acceptable
In-depth understanding of the principles of medicine and healthcare
Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy
Working knowledge of transducers and other ultrasound equipment
