We have a new opening for a 1st Line Desktop Support Engineer to work within our busy IT team located in our Manchester clinic.

The IT Service Desk is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests within MAC. The role of the 1st Line Desktop Support Engineer is to provide first-line support for all staff. You would be responsible for resolving support requests from end users, liaising with the rest of the IT team, as well as meeting staff satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, phone or in person.

Focus of the Role

This role will predominantly involve providing support and assistance for the company’s end users on-site or via remote connection. The role will also involve the imaging and reimaging of laptops and computers as well as general hardware maintenance where necessary. This is an increasingly busy role and so we’re looking for people with a can-do attitude, a natural ability and interest for IT and technical problem solving.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Good knowledge of computer hardware, Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10/11.

  • Ideally, you’ll have some knowledge of Microsoft Servers (Physical/Virtual/Azure) and of network infrastructures, however, this is not an essential requirement as full training will be given to the right candidate.
