HEAD OF STATISTICS

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Statistics to lead our MAC’s Statistical Services and positively impact our progressive CRO Company as we expand our clinical services outside of the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to drive the growth and development of the Statistics Department with responsibilities for line management, department leadership and strategic planning, with the objective of delivering growth and excellence across Statistics Services.
This is a remote based role with travel as required.

Key Responsibilities include:
To lead the Statistics team and provide expert Statistical support and consultancy to MAC Clinical Research and its customers.
To lead and manage the Statistics team including budget, resources, vendors and CRO activities within the Statistics team to allow the delivery of high quality, profitable and timely deliveries to MAC clients.
To develop best working practices and Standard Operating Procedures to deliver the portfolio of projects within the Statistics team in line with relevant SOP’s and in accordance with ICH-GCP.
To define and lead the strategic plan for Statistics growth and development.
To provide tailored consultancy to MAC Clinical Research and its clients.
Required Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Educated to MSc level (or equivalent) in an area relevant to the role.
8+ years of prior Lead Statistical experience within the CRO/Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.
Track record of leading statistical functions, covering all aspects of Statistics activities within clinical trials, leveraging internal and external resources; experience in timeline/resource/budget planning and vendor/contractor oversight.
Expert knowledge and understanding of the statistical principles, concepts, methods and standards used in clinical research and their application within MAC.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven experience of delivering successful outcomes across client, vendor and internal teams.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills used to successfully coordinate and manage project teams to positive deliveries.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent computer skills including expertise in SAS and related systems, and experience of evaluation; selection and implementation of systems/platforms to support the Biometrics function(s).
In-depth knowledge of the global drug development process and its regulatory framework; hands-on experience within clinical trials (Phase I to IV).
