LEGAL COUNSEL - MATERNITY COVER

MAC Clinical Research manages clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry, and we are seeking to appoint a legal counsel to join our legal team for a fixed term period (Maternity Cover up to 12 months) and to make a positive impact in a world-leading Clinical Research Organisation.
We are open to candidates from junior to mid-senior level.
We are happy to be flexible with regards to location in the UK as this is a remote role.
Experience of drafting and negotiating clinical trial agreements and the ABPI model contracts are essential.
Assist in development, review and negotiation of all types of commercial agreements such as Master Service Agreements, Clinical Trial Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Change Orders, Consultancy Agreements and Service Agreements.
Review and draft supply contracts and terms and conditions.
Liaise with internal departments as needed for operational input on commercial agreements.
Provide legal support to internal departments as needed.
Finalise contracts, arranging signature and filing.
Assist with drafting, reviewing and updating contract templates as needed.
Assist with management of external advisors as appropriate.
Provide legal support (including administrative) to the department in respect of general legal, commercial and operational matters.
Maintain relevant work trackers and provide regular updates to the business.
To assist the CLO with other matters as required.
Able to build and maintain professional relationships across the business.
Good communication skills.
Able to communicate complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand.
Able to manage own workload.
To work according to MAC SOPs, guidelines and policies.
Maintenance of strict confidentiality of patient and business-related data.
To maintain a high level of initiative, integrity, and personal responsibility, liaising appropriately with team members and managers to ensure the job role is efficiently carried out in accordance with relevant legislation.
To support the aims of MAC and to represent MAC appropriately in a professional way to all our customers.
Support and supervise junior members of the team as and when required.
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry/life sciences.
Experience of working with ABPI model clinical trial agreements is essential.
Knowledge of contract law in the United Kingdom.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
Experience of drafting and reviewing a variety of contracts.
Ability to manage own workload.
Able to build and maintain professional relationships across the business and to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Ability to communicate complex legal issues and risks in terms that non-legal colleagues can understand.
Excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Positive and proactive approach, including driving processes in a complex environment.
Experience of supervising and/or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous.
