MAC Clinical Research manages clinical trials for the pharmaceutical industry and we are seeking to appoint a Patient Engagement Solutions Specialist to join our team and make a positive impact in a world-leading CRO.

We able to be flexible with regards to location, which could be at any one of our MAC sites across the North of England.

The focus of this role is to support the VP of Patient Engagement Solutions and Senior Management through a variety of mediums; support EnVision activities within the TATL team; support the Feasibility request process by providing Patient Engagement strategies; build condition profiles of applicable therapeutic areas via background research and integration of NICE guidelines; support Patient Engagement Solutions where necessary and required.


  • Research and create condition profiles on MAC therapeutic areas; for utilization within patient recruitment strategies adopted by Therapy Area Team Leads.

  • Research NICE guidelines for implementation of recruitment strategies highlighting patient touch points and pathways for interception.

  • Support day to day activities of MAC EnVision teams

  • Support recruitment report reviews

  • Support the development of ethics documentation

  • Support Focus Group activities

  • Support new engagement ideas and processes

  • Support the data mining process

  • Support the conversion of paper documents to electronic documents

  • Support B2B activities in patient engagement including University networking, charity, and patient advocacy groups

  • Support the Feasibility request process by providing Patient Engagement strategies

  • Monitor recruitment and certain clinical procedures (screening) to highlight areas of improvement to report to Vice President of Patient Engagement Solutions.


  • BSc or MSc in science related discipline

  • Previous experience of working in multi-function teams

  • Previous experience working with senior management teams

  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical research regulation and application

  • Have excellent literacy skills

  • Be computer literate - Word, Excel, E-mail, Adobe Acrobat

  • Have a keen eye for detail

  • Have excellent organization skills

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Be self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable

  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Understanding of MAC’s processes and policies
