HEALTHCARE RELATIONS TEAM LEADER

MAC Clinical Research are expanding and we’re looking for someone to fill our new vacancy for Healthcare Relations Team Leader.


The focus of this new role is to lead drive and monitor your team of Regional Healthcare Relations Specialists in outreach activities and to support the sites in achieving their recruitment/volunteer targets.


You’ll be able to communicate on all levels so that you can achieve targets through GP mailings, community initiatives and relationships with support groups and patient advocates. You’ll be expected to develop positive, strong, long-term relationships with key influencers to grow the MAC Clinical Research patient database.

The role will require travel across the UK MAC sites:

Lancashire

South Staffordshire


KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Graduate or evidence of further learning

  • Proficient with Microsoft packages

  • Confident in forging new relationships and alliances

  • Professional and self- motivated

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent attention to detail; exceptional organisational and planning skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including staff):

  • Provide leadership and support to the Healthcare relations team.

  • Identify and support the training and development needs of individual members of staff, ensuring training is also documented by staff

  • Conduct annual Personal Development Plan (PDP) of team members.

  • Ensure appropriate delegation of duties to the team.

  • Share experience and knowledge with team members.

  • Set a positive example to all colleagues.

  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures and Policies are adhered to at site level.

  • Host team meetings as required and follow up on action points

  • Responsible for managing the monthly outreach budget and its allocation to local activities.

  • Responsible for the setup of local recruitment strategy with assistance of local site teams

  • Responsible for delivering the local recruitment strategy for each study/ therapy area in conjunction with key stakeholders

  • Plan and monitor team outreach distribution activities based on the central strategy and bespoke local outreach options.

  • Report all outreach activity outcomes and look for trends in success to take learnings into the next activity month.

  • Liaise regularly with local site and Site Director to review current recruitment targets for the unit and further adapt and develop local recruitment initiatives and plans

  • Work closely with the site manager to develop and deliver engagement processes to drive low volunteer DNA rates.

  • Liaise with other site Team Leaders to share ideas and best practice.

  • Support developing relationships with key NHS stakeholders. – Practice managers, GPs, Relevant Hospital Depts to support patient database and studies

  • Support relationships with GP surgeries to provide GP mailings where suitable for studies and patient populations

  • Support the relationship building of a network of specialist consultants in key therapeutic areas who could help identify potential patients

  • Establish and develop relationships with private customer / client groups – charities, support groups, pharmacy chains, physiotherapy clinics and similar

  • Explore ways to increase awareness of MAC Clinical Research and promote benefits of trial participation to potential patients and medical professionals.

  • Support promotional initiatives within the local area to raise the profile of the site

  • Present and discuss the services and benefits that MAC can provide across your region with confidence, knowledge, and authority

  • Work with the site to develop ways of gaining volunteer feedback MAC can use for promotion of the site and service improvements.

  • Support the build of a local advocacy group of volunteers who are willing to be involved with the review of volunteer facing study materials and provide interview feedback MAC can use to raise awareness of the study profile

  • Share experience and knowledge with colleagues.

  • Ensure training folder is updated and maintained.

GENERAL

  • Work effectively as a team with the sites to obtain medical histories in a timely manner and in line with GDPR.

  • Compliance with MAC health and Safety policy

  • To maintain professional qualifications required for the role, including continuous personal development

  • To work to the requirements of SI 2004 no 1031 and amendments thereof, which includes Good Clinical Practice

  • To work according to MAC SOPs, guidelines, and policies

  • To work according to current data protection standards and practice good information management. Maintenance of strict confidentiality of patient and business-related data.

  • To maintain a high level of initiative and personal responsibility, liaising appropriately with team members and managers to ensure your job role is efficiently carried out

  • To support the aims of MAC and to represent MAC appropriately in a professional way to all our customers

PHYSICAL, WORK ENVIRONMENT, TRAVEL DEMANDS: On territory agreed with manager with some occasional requirement to travel outside of territory for specific meetings or events
