We are seeking to appoint a Site Lead/Site Director to join our team and make a positive impact in a growing and progressive CRO. You will be joining a company that put the needs and wellbeing of their people first, who are inclusive and who deliver exceptional service – together.

This role is full time and based at our Cannock Clinic, with travel to other sites as required.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of business activities at the clinic in accordance with ICH-GCP and MAC SOPs, optimise profitability by leading the team to meet/exceed business projection and line management of site clinical and admin staff.


  • Provide leadership and support to the site team.

  • Conduct annual Personal Development Plan (PDP) of site team members.

  • Lead the site team in pursuit of clinical excellence and high standards of patient care.

  • Ensure that relevant clinical training is identified, organised and documented by clinical staff.

  • Ensure site staff feel secure and are safe according to accepted industry norms by assessing and mitigating risks as appropriate.

  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures and Policies are adhered to at site level.

  • Host site meetings as required and follow up on action points

  • Attend and contribute to Clinical Operations Group meetings and cascade relevant information to site staff.

  • Ensure Inter-site harmonisation via meetings with other Site Directors.

  • Contribute to forward planning for studies to start – input into feasibility process, accelerate start up times and First Patient, First Visits.

  • Contribute positively to maximise targets for patient recruitment.

  • Participate in patient recruitment strategy discussions, to optimise local site recruitment.

  • Monitor the progress of studies on a weekly basis against the recruitment plan.

  • Ensure financial processes are adhered to as defined in the Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Ensuring effective and timely root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions on non-conformances/potential non-conformances identified by QA or other staff.

  • Report study statistics timely and accurately.

  • Responsibility for clinical areas, including staff training for clinical areas including lab training, venepuncture, ECG training.


  • Considerable proven experience in clinical research.

  • Clinical/Research background e.g. Nursing/Medical/Research Coordinator.

  • Ability to achieve business targets by developing/contributing to strategies and campaigns with the clinical, recruitment and patient liaison teams.

  • Demonstrates a sound knowledge of ICH/GCP and MAC SOPs.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Be self -motivated and able to work independently.

  • Excellent team working skills.

  • Demonstrate authority and maturity in discussions with medical professionals, sponsors, staff and senior management.

  • Participate in the development of organisational strategy

  • Demonstrate problem solving, analytical, organisation and time management skills

  • Excellent managerial skills; coaches, guides, and professionally develops those reporting to them.
