TRAINING MANAGER

We are seeking to appoint a Training Manager to join our team and make a positive impact in a growing and progressive CRO. You will be joining a company that put the needs and wellbeing of their people first, who are inclusive and who deliver exceptional service – together.

This role is a Hybrid role, with business travel to Manchester/North West as required.


FOCUS OF THE JOB: To provide line management support for the training team and lead employee development initiatives through the identification, creation and delivery of creative training events and educational programs.

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Proven work experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar role

  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting

  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation

  • Extensive knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools

  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)

  • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques

  • Experience with e-learning platforms

  • MS Office proficiency

  • Advanced organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

  • Strong communication skills

  • Degree in Education, Training, HR or related field


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning:

  • Oversee and manage the training team

  • Decide on training priorities and assist the team to deliver effective training

  • Organise and facilitate the delivery of role specific training across the clinical sites in conjunction with clinical trainers and SME’s

  • Attendance at project meetings, including PRAR where required, to enable the coordination and oversight of study specific training

  • Conduct periodic organisation-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed

  • Work with department heads and line managers to map out annual training plans

  • Maintain a system of recording of company-wide training capability and SME’s

  • Assist with the coordination of training requirements for clinical raters

  • Develop and coordinate the process for study specific Rater Experience Questionnaires and rater experience database

Creation:

  • Design and develop training programs (outsourced and/or in-house)

  • Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes)

  • Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques

  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials

  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs

  • Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design

  • Work with internal programmers to design and build a fit-for-purpose bespoke learning management system

Delivery and Record:

  • Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions

  • Conduct specific training sessions in line with own expertise

  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts

  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment

  • Research and recommend new training methods

  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records

General:

  • Compliance with MAC health and Safety policy

  • Compliance with MAC policy on equality and diversity

  • To maintain professional qualifications required for the role, including continuous personal development

  • To work to the requirements of SI 2004 no 1031 and amendments thereof, which includes Good Clinical Practice

  • To work according to MAC SOPs, guidelines and policies

  • To work according to current data protection standards and practice good information management. Maintenance of strict confidentiality of patient and business related data.

  • To maintain a high level of initiative and personal responsibility, liaising appropriately with team members and managers to ensure your job role is efficiently carried out

  • To support the aims of MAC and to represent MAC appropriately in a professional way to all our customers
