SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Project Manager to join our team and make a positive impact in a growing and progressive CRO. You will be joining a company that put the needs and wellbeing of their people first, who are inclusive and who deliver exceptional service – together.


This role is Remote with travel to MAC sites as required.


The focus of this role is to work with the Head of Project Management to ensure the successful delivery of full-service projects or programmes of work, by application of project management principles and implementation of project management methodologies and processes.


To lead project teams on full-service projects to ensure that project objectives are met.


Client management and communication lead.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

  • Provision of project management leadership to cross-functional teams by integration, facilitating, coordinating and managing all activities related to the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout of assigned full-service projects and programmes.

  • Responsible for managing projects to ensure integration, coordination and consistency of processes throughout the project life-cycle.

  • Coordination and management of the activities of individual projects and team members in a manner that ensures all budgetary requirements, timelines and target deliverables are met.

  • Primary contact for communication with study sites/teams, vendors, Sponsor companies and Clinical Research Organisations. Facilitate effective communication among all project-related parties.

  • Creation and maintenance of project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

  • Conduct study feasibility and site selection, set-up and management of site(s).

  • Identify resource requirements and assign individual responsibilities.

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.

  • Review team deliverables before passing to the client.

  • Utilise risk management methodologies to identify risks and work with the team to develop mitigation and contingency plans.

  • Lead the process to document lessons learned and resultant recommendations for assigned projects.

  • Ensure financial reconciliation is performed at project close out.

  • Recognise and submit out of scope requests for costing and approval as appropriate.

  • Participate in client meetings including, but not limited to, bid defence presentations, Kick Off Meetings, Investigator Meetings etc.

  • Manage resource and individual roles and responsibilities within the project teams and ensure that each project team member understands the requirements for project deliverables.

  • Mitigate team conflict and communication problems to resolve conflict; exhibit solution seeking behaviours and promote team building.

  • Motivate and coach team members across functional lines.

  • Inspire team members to meet goals and pursue excellence.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change; manage the process of change effectively.

  • To be both a self-motivated team leader and a good team player.

  • To maintain professional qualifications required for the role, including continuous personal development

  • To work to the requirements of SI 2004 no 1031 and amendments thereof, which includes Good Clinical Practice

  • To work according to MAC SOPs, guidelines and policies

  • To work according to current data protection standards and practice good information management. Maintenance of strict confidentiality of patient and business related data.

  • To maintain a high level of initiative and personal responsibility, liaising appropriately with team members and managers to ensure your job role is efficiently carried out

  • To support the aims of MAC and to represent MAC appropriately in a professional way to all our customers

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of management and coordination of full-service projects within a Clinical Research Organisation or Pharmaceutical company.

  • A life sciences degree and/or recognised project management qualification.

  • Must possess a detailed and proactive approach to management in problem solving

  • Superior time management skills for working within a fast-paced environment
